How do you stay motivated while working from home? For some of us, working remotely has always been the way we work. However, for others, it has been a whole new concept. Some of us relished the new environment and for others it was a struggle, trying to balance childcare & schoolwork with working from their kitchen table.
About 70% of our workforce continues to work from home with approx. 30% of us back working from the office. Whichever way you’ve adapted to your new surroundings, know that you are doing great and give yourself a pat on the back!
6 tips to stay motivated while working from home:
If you are continuing to work from home, here are a few tips that may help:
- Have a good routine and build up a rhythm around your day eg start time, break time, finish time
- Engage and interact with your manager & teams frequently
- Create a workspace – with table and chair that provides good support and is free from distractions
- Take regular breaks
- Wash your hands
- Get some fresh air daily
Walking as an exercise
Exercise is so important, but more so at this time due to the COVID restrictions upon us. Sometimes when we think of exercise we automatically think of the gym or exercise classes/running/weights etc. Although those forms of exercise work great for some for others it can be off-putting.
So I would like to share this video with you called 23 ½ hours which highlights the importance of walking as a form of exercise and the many many benefits it can have.
You will see that a 30 minutes walk every day can have significant positive health repercussions. Exercise does not have to consist of gyms, weights, marathons, walking is one of the best forms of exercise and the even better thing is that it is free and right outside your front door. So whether you are in the office or at home, go for a walk 😊
