“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”
That’s what Serene Low says to herself internally every time she wakes up.
As a Marketing Intern in Enterpryze, Serene is always on the hunt for fresh ideas and can spot exciting social media strategies from a mile away.
When it comes to starting her early career – a position heavy on self-improvement is on the top of her list.
We caught up with Serene to reflect on her time with the Enterpryze family.
1. What's your dream career?
As I am majoring in marketing, my dream career is to become a digital marketer.
For me – a career with passion, innovation and keeping up with what’s trending is completely attractive.
Exploring new things means reflection and thus creating values for people as a digital marketer.
One thing that I am enthusiastic about in this career is that you will have huge satisfaction when you realize the effort you have made is having a big impact on the world.
I would also hope to have a work-life balance environment where I could have more quality time to explore new things in my life.
2. What drew you to applying for Enterpryze?
I was that excited to apply with Enterpryze as I saw that there are many different areas of the company’s marketing team I could help out with.
3. What was the interview process like? Can you walk me through each step of the way?
I went through two stages of virtual interviews before getting an offer from Enterpryze.
The first interview was short but effective, the interview was with Cody Yow, Regional People Operations Manager of the APJ area. She was very nice, and the flow of the interview was going pleasantly even with limited time.
The second interview was with my Marketing Manager, Jessica Lew and Channel Marketing Executive, Halissa Hilmi.
I was a little nervous, however, the whole process was friendly and we could exchange opinions freely about the position.
4. What was your position at Enterpryze? On your very first day – what were your feelings about Enterpryze and its people?
I was a Marketing Intern in the APJ team.
When it was my first day, I met the other two interns that we are in the same batch.
It was exciting to meet everyone on my first day – and the process went by amazingly even through our virtual onboarding.
The people at Enterpryze are super supportive and friendly, and although we are working from home; I can still feel their willingness to help me as a fresh intern.
5. What is your average workday as an intern at Enterpryze? Can you walk me through each of your duties throughout your 10 weeks at Enterpryze?
My main tasks were to create organic content for Enterpryze and mCollect POS via social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
Of course, I was also to assist my colleagues with any facets of their marketing campaigns whenever they needed.
6. What was the highlight of your 10 weeks at Enterpryze?
As this is the first time, I joined a SaaS company which is considered challenging for me to create some content to post.
I would say that the breakthrough moment that I have achieved is understanding the software with the help of my colleagues and knowing how to effectively promote Enterpryze on social media.
They are very supportive to guide me from the first step until now.
7. Do you love working from home or in the office? What do you like about it?
I like the flexibility in hours that a stay-at-home position offers.
I tend to do my best work very early in the morning.
Being able to set my own hours allows me to work when I am most alert.
8. When do you have the most fun at work?
The most fun and memorable moment for me at work is celebrating Halloween, it was the first day everyone returned to the office and met each other in person.
Of course – not forgetting the birthday surprise from Enterpryze as well 🥰
9. Tell us something that your colleagues may not have known about you.
I am very introverted at heart. I could spend all day just pampering myself to watch the whole series of Harry Potter (my all-time favourite) with a venti hot cocoa.
I am also a selectively social person, although making new friends is good and I love to meet new friends too.
Yet, I would prefer to hang out with my best friends who mean a lot to me. I feel comfortable being with them and showing the real me in front of people who know me well.
10. What is your advice to the next intern at Enterpryze?
My advice would be to keep motivating yourself, stay strong and learn as much as you can – everyone is willing to help you!
11. When you’re not at work, what are your passions?
Travelling! I enjoy new experiences when travelling to other countries, learning the local cultures, lifestyles as well to broaden my horizons in the world.
However, since the pandemic has limited my plan of travelling; I love to go out on local day trips where I can enjoy my time in nature.
12. If we had an unlimited budget, what would you want us to buy for the office?
Buying a brand new coffee machine and getting extra strong coffee beans!
13. If you ran the world, what’s one thing you’d change?
If I could rule the world – I’d build a location just to reflect the Harry Potter universe.
It’ll be where magic-loving Muggles can visit Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade, compete in the Quidditch World Cup and sip hot butterbeer at long last.
